Lupe Fiasco Not Moved By Obama’s Speech
by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Nov.07, 2008, under KS NEWS, VID E OZE
Eh… he says he’s going to catch flack, so here goes:
In the video below rapper Lupe Fiasco says Barack Obama’s acceptance speech didn’t move him one iota, but the image of Jesse Jackson weeping, or as he put it, “BALLING,” did…
First of all, it’s more likely those were more “tears of jealousy and envy” than they were “tears of affirmation” for the Civil Rights Movement, Martin & Malcolm. Either that or he’s regretting what he said. Did Lupe forget that Jesse Jackson, while in the studio preparing to do a live television interview in front of the world, denounced Barack Obama and spitefully grunted, “I want to cut his nuts off?”
The truth is, dude was probably crying because HE couldn’t get it done and Barack, who he claims “talks down to Black people,” did. If any celebrity’s emotions were “moving” and/or “inspiring,” it was Oprah’s. She’s been down for Barack since day 1 and has done more for Black people in two years - across the hemisphere - than Jesse Jackson has in the past two decades.
Dude’s a talker. Always has been and always will be.
At any rate, here’s the video.

Okay Paperboi! This is not cool. There is no friction between Barak and Jesse. Jesse words were from one Black Man to another Balck Man and as usual the media blew it way out of proportion. Did you forget that Jesse assumed the mic was off and that the light in the studio were off? I do agree that Lupe is a idiot no matter how you slice it. And to think they call him a conscious rapper because he writes songs about push, kick, skate of whatever the F*&^!

Well, well, well… how goes it Pharoah? I see I finally motivated you to say something… Good thing about it is, now all your comments are live and you don’t have to wait for me to approve or edit them… so if I’m away from the computer and you leave a really disparaging comment, you can count on seeing it for the next couple few hours… not that you would anyway, but some people are out there.
As for the Jesse/Barack funk, I don’t think it still exists. I do however, think a part of Jesse WAS jealous. I mean why utter some shit like that in the first place? The whole world is behind this dude and you, our last formidable African American candidate, choose to denounce him? i don’t give a fuck if the lights were out, the janitor was sweeping behind him and the mics were on the way. there’s no excuse, especially in the FAUX Newsroom.
now, don’t get it twisted… i’m not the one to promote self hate or bickering, but jesse was flat out wrong and everyone knows that. his timing was horrible and if nothing else, he should have been supportive of B.O. THEN. i don’t wanna see all that crying shit and super support when u had a chance to do it in the first place AND blew it!

Now matter if he thought the mic was off or not, why the hell would anybody say “I wan’t to cut his nuts off!”
JESSE WAS CLEARY HATING!!!
And Lupe is WILDING!!! Dude needs some Media Training For Real.

Ok Jesse was out of line for his comments. Im only suggesting that his words were taken out of context. In my opinion the media was trying to stir-up some Black hate against B.O. and it didn’t happen, because Jesse quickly apologized. I love the way that African-Americans came together and supported Barack. The worst thing that I heard from any African-American is that he is going to get shot!
