E-40, the Bay Area Slanguage Samaritan, recently told MC Serch that he will release one of the most anticipated reads in hip hop history. Known for his ability to reinvent, rehabilitate and recoin common vernacular, E-40’s Dictionary of Slang has been in the works for upwards of a decade.

Whether he’s fed up with how other rappers and regions have hi-jacked Bay Area flavor (fuck swag) or just finally decided to do the damn thing, 40 says the book release will happen, “before Christmas. I guarantee it.”

While he’s announced the forthcoming release of the Dictionary… many times over the years, 40’s recent sense of urgency seems to have stemmed from a lack of respect and/or acknowledgment – a behavior directly correlated to Bay Area artists in general.

“I’m the most bitten…I done been bit all my whole life,” he told Serch. “They gonna do it regardless. They gon’ bite. So, I might as well put it out there.”
