President Obama invited Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Cambridge, Mass. Sgt. James Crowley to the White House lawn in an effort to bury an issue that blew up in the past couple of weeks.

Vice President Joe Biden also joined the group as they appeared to enjoy each other’s company and settle any differences between them.

Media was not allowed anywhere near the discussion the men had, but were able to capture Obama laughing at some point and enjoying snacks before they were escorted off the lawn.
