A collaborative effort between The Boy Boy Young Mess, Jacka and Blanco, Jonestown boasts the only such project to pair the two Bay Area legends along with a formidable up and comer.

Combining the respective forces to record the Jonestown project was instigated about a year ago after Mess, Jacka and Blanco worked on some random tracks. As fearless leaders of their respective cities, it was an obvious draw for all three to come together for a common cause.

“The chemistry was great, because they all kinda talked about the same content,” ‘Guerilla Entertainment CEO ‘Slow told N. Ali Early of KREATIVE SOULS, LLC. “It just flowed because they all instantly knew what the subject matter was about.” (continue reading…)

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Apr.01, 2010, under KS NEWS

nipsey_hussle_2Nipsey Hussle recently sat down with Complex and discussed his promising career, the West Coast resurgence and the growing trend of gangbanging in hip hop circles.

When asked specifically about Lil Wayne and Jim Jones, two rappers known to claim ties to Blood affiliates, the South Central representative didn’t bite his tongue.

“If you 35, 28, or 30 years old, and you decide you’re gonna pick up a rag and start bangin’, and you can look yourself in the mirror and you still feel like you’re a man? That’s cool, do your thing,” he said. “My concern is the niggas that are really in the shit. I’m more focused on giving solutions and inspiration more than anything. If he was from Canada, he’d be the next best thing.

Seeing he’s from the heart of South Central, it’s a wonder the hating hasn’t taken its toll. But you can’t fight good product. It claims you wherever you’re standing and consumes your time like a first grader.

As usual, Neighborhood Nip shines on this dark track, effectively leaving little daylight for his counterpart, Southside Po.

It is what it is.

by KS STAFF on Nov.23, 2009, under VID E OZE

nipsey_hussle_2Nipsey Hussle has to have one of the hardest West Coast accents ever! He also bears the mentality and qualities that produce five star albums.

Ready and willing to get it in whenever, whereever and with whomever, Neighborhood Nip discusses how his rap career materialized because he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Equally important, he talks how red and blue make green on this clip he provided The Raw Report.

“I knew Jay Rock and Jay Rock knew me, just like I knew Game. It was just mutual respect. We get it in and do our thang.”

Nipsey is currently promoting the third installment of his street classic, Bullets Ain’t Got No Names.
