The Scope: Mahem & Killa Tay | “You Don’t Wanna Know Killa”
by KS STAFF on Aug.25, 2010, under SLAP, VID E OZE, WCW
We’ve had our eye in PIIMP (Put It In My Pocket) for awhile now and the OGs, Mahem & Killa Tay are two main reasons why. Their affiliate Gorilla Gang, is a beast in and of itself and the hustle is unparalleled for an indie label.
Had to do a little searching, but below you’ll find a double video for “You Don’t Wanna Know Killa” and “Paper Politicin,” directed by Gorilla Gang’s Big Ju.
Not to slight Tay or anything. Dude is a well respected rapper in the Bay and all, but Mahem’s impact takes this song from ordinary to spectacular in a few bars. His energy on “You Don’t Wanna…” alters the track immediately and his wordplay on “Paper Politicin” is equally impressive.
Kat Stacks Calls Soulja Boy A Cokehead (Video)
by KS STAFF on Aug.25, 2010, under RUMORS, VID E OZE
Looks like Soulja Boy got caught with his pants down… literally. Superhead II is still on the prowl spreading venom and Mr. Tellum is her latest victim.
In the clip below, Stacks starts out in the middle of a hotel suite, presumably the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta (that’s what the paper she reads from says at least). She alerts her viewers that she is in Soulja Boy’s company while he bathes?
It gets all kinda sill when she begins to accuse the entertainer of being a cokehead and then walks her camera phone to a countertop where at least three cocaine lines await its user.
She’d like the viewer to believe they’re his and walks into the bathroom to catch audio of his voice. (continue reading…)
New SLAP | Willie Joe | “Focus”
by KS STAFF on Aug.25, 2010, under SLAP, VID E OZE, WCW
Not like he ever had to prove it to us. We’ve been known Willie Joe was a monster, but that was a benefit of having seen his movement materialize in the flesh.
Since moving back to the Bay, the Fresh Prince of Vallejo has done much to reclaim his throne and his viral campaign is easily among the best on the ‘Net (we still love you Teairra Mari!)
This latest joint, “Focus,” puts it all in perspective. After working his way from a gig at the airport to emerging as one of the most talked about underground emcees in Altanta, Joe’s promising career seemed poised to take off. Two failed record deals later, he’s all but faced with starting all over again – this time on his native soil.
E-40 Tests The Waters In Kansas City
by KS STAFF on Aug.10, 2010, under VID E OZE
Ever since Mac Dre was gunned down in Kansas City in 2004, the tension between the Bay and K.C. has been thicker than a 2 by 4.
The truth is, Kansas City loves what the Bay represents and vice versa. There was an unfortunate incident six years ago that claimed a West Coast Legend, but perhaps it’s time to mend the fences?
E-40 took it upon himself to test the waters and K.C. loved every minute of it. During his set, the Vallejo born and bred rapper took the time to acknowledge Tech N9ne’s Strange Music as the #1 independent label in the world. Thereafter, he went into a series of old school favorites for an appreciative crowd.
Among them were “Sprinkle Me,” “One Luv” and “Captain Save A Hoe.” Then he topped it off with that new, new… “Bitch!”
New SLAP | Mistah Fab | “Fuck The World” (Video)
by KS STAFF on Aug.09, 2010, under VID E OZE
When he wants to (which is most of the time), Fabby Davis Jr. can spit with the best of them. Much of what casual observers know might begin and end with his freestyle skills and the “Life of the Party” video.
However, Fab has a human side to him that appeals to the troubled existence of less fortunate thugs and general victims of oppression.
In this here video Fab puts it out there for anyone within earshot to hear and has no apparent regrets…The son of a pimp, who ultimately died from AIDS, Fab’s success is something of a work of art.
“I would never be nuthin’/ what I was always told/ I guess they didn’t think I’d get money for pourin’ out my soul… Fuck the world, life don’t mean nuthin’/ he ain’t listenin’, how you tell a teen somethin’…”
