Mike Vick Welcomes Rap References

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Feb.18, 2010, under VID E OZE

vickbetRappers have a way of making their celebrity peers feel good, or bad. As long as the culture of hip hop has been, our favorite lyricists have made a habit of assessing pop culture – at least the good ones have.

It was no different when Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj stood in a cypher at the 2009  BET Hip Hop Awards and used Michael Vick’s disgraced image to get her point across.

“And I’m killin’ these bitches/ Mike Vick’n it up…”

She said… Since being released from prison for having served upwards of 22 months in Leavenworth for animal abuse charges, Mike Vick is back amongst his peers and in the limelight. As such, he sat down with BET and expressed his feelings on Minaj’s tribute?

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Sep.04, 2009, under KS NEWS

mike-eppsAfter an eventful awards show last year that saw T Pain pull off last minute replacement duties for Katt Williams, Stephen Hill and company decided to go with comedian Mike Epps for this year’s installment of the “BET Hip Hop Awards” on October 10th.

As usual, the show will be taped live at Atlanta’s Civic Center and will air later on in the month (October 27th at 8 PM). This year’s theme – “And we don’t stop” – embraces the bevy of action fans can expect to see from Hip Hop’s brightest stars.

“We are VERY happy to be coming back to ‘The A’ for the fourth go at the BET Hip-Hop Awards,” said Stephen Hill, President of Music and Programming, BET Networks. “We embrace the opportunity to amplify all aspects of the hip-hop culture; the music, the dance, the sense of community and as we have before, we expect to do so with excitement…and with my man Mike Epps on board as our new host, we’ll do it with reckless abandon. And we don’t Stop.”

Ironically, the same day the show airs (October 27th), Epps will release a hip hop comedy album entitled Funny Bidness, which features Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock and Slim Thug, among others.

Excerpt from “R. Kelly Speaks” on BET

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Sep.18, 2008, under KS NEWS, VID E OZE

This is about as evasive as it gets. There’s more to the interview, but the meat of it is in here. He babbled about the whole time, but this clip is the most painful, appalling part of the dialogue. In it he addresses his alleged lust for underaged women, among other things.

It’s disturbing to think how he sorts things out in his own mind and then deals with them later… but such is the world of R. Kelly. Who are we to judge?

But no seriously, dude sounds like a pedo.
