According Blackvoices.com, 80’s rapper Roxanne Shante recently revealed that she is living with breast cancer. While most women that are dealt such a blow are given unconditional support after such a heavy diagnosis, Roxanne Shante (real name Lolita Shante Gooden), is instead being questioned about her supposed condition.

An April 2009 article was published about Gooden in the New York Daily News, where she claimed that she forced her record label to fund her education, allowing her to receive her Ph.D. from Cornell University. The move was said to have cost the label $217,000.

A hysterectomy in my early thirties led me to believe that I would be fine. Another stupid move.
