Carmelo Anthony Wants Out Of Denver
by KOPY KAT on Aug.17, 2010, under GAME
All signs continue to point toward the eventual divorce between Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets.
League sources say it is now a matter of when, not if, Anthony and the Nuggets will go their separate ways.
Anthony is weighing whether to sign a three-year, $65 million extension offered by the Nuggets. His dilemma, league sources say, is what affords him the best chance of continuing his career elsewhere. Anthony could sign with Denver and convince the team to then trade him. His other option would be to not sign the extension, thereby forcing the team to move him rather than risk losing him next summer as a free agent.
During his annual basketball camp in Colorado on Saturday, Anthony said he had no timetable on when he’ll decide whether to sign the extension. (continue reading…)
KSE | Carmelo Anthony Hungry For A Title
by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Oct.30, 2009, under GAME, KS EXCLUSIVE

As he preps himself for the rigors of another season, Carmelo Anthony moves forward as the Denver Nuggets’ franchise player with perhaps more expectations than he’s ever had as a pro.
Last year, by many a hoops analyst’s opinion, he was recognized as perhaps the most efficient scorer in the league. At times he reminded us of a young George Gervin. Elegant and crafty, he made 30 look as easy as a routine trip to the gas station; especially on December 10th when he netted 33 in a quarter, tying the former Spurs legend for the most points in a quarter – EVER.
On other occasions, he showed a willingness to bang, mixing it up with the bigs and giving smaller guards and forwards hell in a handbag. Unsurprisingly, his efforts produced all star caliber numbers – 23, 7 and 3 – even if he missed the bid to prove it. For his trouble, Melo and his Nuggets reached the Western Conference Finals, where they met and were eventually defeated by the Los Angeles Lakers.
The bittersweet end to his 2008-2009 season unfortunately came on his birthday, but Melo and the Nuggets retooled over the summer adding depth to an already deep squad.
“Hopefully the moves we made in the offseason will pay off,” he says. “I’m just looking forward to competing with the rest of my teammates this year.”
Among the new additions is former UNC standout Ty Lawson, a point guard who has shown the mettle of a seasoned veteran over the summer and in the Nuggets opener last night. Lawson was drafted to learn from Chauncey Billups, arguably the best floor general in the league, which he will most certainly do. Add JR Smith to the mix (when he gets back from suspension) and suddenly the Nuggets now have the makings of a futuristic backcourt.
Carmelo Anthony Sues Former Manager For Theft
by KS STAFF on Aug.21, 2009, under GAME, KS NEWS
Denver Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony is suing his former business manager for stealing upwards of $2 million, claiming there were either hidden or decoded documents concealed behind his back for a period of three years.
Larry W. Harmon, Anthony’s former manager, allegedly transferred $1.75 million to his own business account/ company, Larry Harmon & Associates P.A. in 2008.
According to the lawsuit filed by Anthony’s lawyer Robert W. Hirsh, the other monies, which amounted to 265,000 from 2005-2008, were used to invest in third party interests.
“I intend to aggressively represent Carmelo Anthony,” Hirsh, told the Associated Press. “The evidence which I have reviewed strongly suggests that Carmelo Anthony’s former business manager plundered his assets. It is reprehensible that professional athletes are so often victimized.”
MTVs LaLa Escorted From Dallas/Denver Game

Carmelo Anthony’s fiance LaLa Vasquez, who’s been employed with MTV since 2003 and is currently a judge on the third season of “Charm School,” was escorted from the Dallas Mavericks/Denver Nuggets’ playoff game last night for an outburst she insists was prompted by unruly Mavs’ fans.
During the prior game, Mavs owner Mark Cuban stormed off the court cursing his way to the locker room and before entering the tunnel, insinuated the Nuggets were “thugs,” singling out Kenyon Martin’s mother with his index finger. He has since apologized and offered Martin’s family seats in his exclusive box should the series make it back to Dallas for a game six.
The Nuggets lead the semifinals series 3-1.
