Orlando Magic all star Center Dwight Howard is suing the mother of his 2-year-old son, Royce Reed, for disparaging remarks she made as a contributing member of the popular message board Lipstick Alley.

Howard met Reed when she danced as part of the Magic cheerleading squad and the two dated, but never married.

Reed is accused of gossiping about her superstar ex on LA with thousands of regular contributors and her remarks have been identified as inflammatory, if not worse by Howard’s lawyers. As such, his legal team is seeking $9.2 million in damages, based on a simple math formula:

$500 per disparaging remark multiplied by the 17,000 views the post(s) have attracted since being published.

Ouch!

Well, since Lebron James didn’t make it to the Finals and Dwight Howard was understandably upset that all the fuss has been about Kobe and LBJ in the months leading up to the season finale, Vitamin Water decided to do a spot featuring the Orlando Magic center… versus himself?

That’s what premature descriptions of the commercial are saying anyway…

In any scenario, it’s an insightful look at his goofy side, which Kobe has gone on records as saying masks his competitive nature. Competitive or not, it may not matter if the Magic continue to play like they did last night.. Maybe Vitamin water can pick up where Nike left off?
