Like it or not, the New West movement is moving fast and furious. Two of its most prominent artists hooked up to deliver an eerie portrayal that speaks on the obvious. At the end of the day, it’s all about gettin’ money and if they maintain this pace once their respective albums drop, both Jay Rock and Glasses Malone stand to make a lot of it. Watts stand up!

The Greg Street/Glasses Malone collaboration entitled Greg Street 2010 pays homage to the infamous Chronic album along with its legendary producer, Dr. Dre and this track/video is among the mixtape’s bright spots. Comedic as much as it is to the point, Malone raises his G status by dismissing the new adage of “keeping it 100″ and multiplies the act by ten.
The video finds him in an interrogation room coping with two overbearing detectives that want him to snitch on one of his industry homies. Then they try to break him by offering donuts by the dozen?? Being the battle tested gangster that he is, G keeps his mouth shut and ultimately gets a pass for not talking as the two frustrated cops warn him to watch his back at every turn. Then, on his way out as he gives them one last glare of scorn, he snags the last donut!

Glasses Malone is gettin’ it in. From the outside looking in, his work ethic is admirable at worst. Fresh off the 2010 collab with Greg Street, “Sixty Million Dollar Flow” is a video inspired by the soundtrack from the movie, Next Day Air, starring Mike Epps, Mos Def and Donald Faison.
Glasses’ debut album, Beach Cruiser, drops in August.

This one’s kinda in and out widit… a verse from Glasses, then Fabby kicks in and Novel’s on the hook/bridge. The chemistry is right though… from the Bay to LA; real California feel good music. Woulda been a perfect summer song. Oh well, guess we just gotta enjoy it now.
