They may not have always seen eye to eye, but both Ludacris and the self proclaimed King of the South, T.I., aren’t so visually impaired that they can’t see when the city they both call home, needs them.

In an effort of philanthropy, both rappers donated $10k to aid victims who were affected by the horrific storms in Atlanta just last week.

The damages were estimated at $60 million, left 10 people dead and devastated over 400 homes.

So as to expedite the process of recovery, The Ludacris Foundation teamed up with Home Depot and Sam’s Club. Additionally, Luda’s charity is planning a food drive and gift card giveaway.

In this video, Alfamega addresses the report made infamous by the Smoking Gun, which ultimately derailed his career with Grand Hustle. Accused of snitching on a drug kingpen by TSG, Mega allows that he did cooperate with police, but it was not to snitch. He says he lied instead.

T.I. called in to Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 last night to deliver some news many in the hip-hop community felt would come sooner or later. Stunning nonetheless, Tip announced his displeasure with the recent allegations regarding Cedric “Alfamega” Zellars’ informant past.

Apparently on a cell phone when he rang the station to share his thoughts and ultimately can the rapper, T.I. seems to read a prepared statement that leaves no doubt about his position on the matter.

“I am stunned and totally surprised by the news about Alpha Ced Zellars,” the Grand Hustle impresario uttered in disbelief. “Even though all our employees are asked to be honest and open about their past history, at no time did Alpha disclose to me or Grand Hustle what is now appearing in the media.

“He essentially deceived us by failing to fully disclose the truth about his past and there is no place in our organization for dishonest and misleading behavior. As I’ve always said, you must take responsibilty for your own actions. We at Grand Hustle do not support or condone blaming others for our own mistakes.

“I hope and pray that God blesses Ced in his plans, but I don’t foresee me or my company playing a role in his personal or professional business. End.”

In related news, rumor has it that Alphamega is in the hospital after an altercation with police officers that left him with two broken legs.

Talk about adding insult to injury… DAMN homie!!!

According to the Smoking Gun, Grand Hustle rap artist Alphamega has a past life as a government informant who snitched on criminal cohorts to lesser a 1995 sentence from 110 months.

To his credit, Alphamega, whose government name is Cedric Zellars, is a convicted felon who faced weapons and robbery charges, among other things. He was ultimately found out when he attempted to sell weapons to an undercover agent before “agreeing to cooperate with authorities.”

AFFIDAVIT INSIDE

As expected, rapper T.I. was sentenced today to one year and a day for attempting to purchase machine guns and silencers in 2007.

The Grand Hustle front man pleaded guilty to the charges in May of last year and was allowed to spend the past months as a free man, as long as he participated in community service acitivities that included his hit reality series Road To Redemption.

Tip, whose real name is Clifford Harris, will also be required to pay a $100,000 fine as a part of his sentencing.

“Today, I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to all,” the rapper told U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr., who handed down the sentence. (continue reading…)
