Earlier today various sources reported Katt Williams was arrested on burglary charges and had a bail hearing this afternoon.

An inside source tells us the home Williams was accused of burglarizing is actually his good friend Barry Hankerson’s.

Williams in fact, has been living there for off and on over the course of a few weeks and was actually hosting a birthday party for one of the crew members of the movie he wrapped approximately two weeks ago.

All the drama popped off when Katt had words with the groundskeeper, who is the culprit that called the police.

Hankerson and Williams have known each other for some time, so much so, that the funny man owns some of the horses at Hankerson’s Newnan home.

Katt Williams was arrested on charges related to burglary and tresspassing last night in Coweta County Georgia, 38 miles outside of Atlanta.

Police were alerted when an unidentified homeowner reported a man who fit Williams’ description, allegedly broke into the home, then stole jewelry and other unidentified items.

The Cincinatti born comedian/actor recently released his third stand up DVD, Katt Williams: Pimpadelic, which soared to number 8 in its first week, according to Nielsen/VideoScan.

It is believed he is in Atlanta filming a movie.

Williams is scheduled for an arraignment this afternoon, where a bond will be set for his release.

Best known for his roles in Friday After Next, First Sunday and hilarious standup It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’, Williams has found himself on the wrong side of the law in the past few years. He has also received mental health evaluations and was committed to a psychiatric facitlity in November of 2008.

UPDATE: A source close to the situation confirmed that Katt Williams was in fact working when the police arrested him for burglary. Williams’ good friend is said to own the home and the comedian has been living there off and on for a few months while filming.
