Kanye West & Friends | “Power” (Remix)

by KS STAFF on Aug.20, 2010, under SLAP

kanye-west-kobe-bryant-swizz-beatz-mos-def-540x324The remix to Kanye West’s “Power” featuring Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz and himself is upon us. Word to Kobe Bryant, who West claims he sought out for added inspiration.

Some may not understand the process, but it makes perfect sense to us. Ye called up Bean for help because he’s a closer.

Who else would he have talked to about finishing the biggest song of the year (for him of course)? Lebron James?

We think not.

In any scenario, enjoy it. Swizz actually trips up the beat Snap’s throwback in the end, which actaully makes it a re-mix.

Bean’s Take On The Miami Superteam

by KS STAFF on Jul.12, 2010, under GAME, VID E OZE

kobebryantKobe Bryant was in front of a few cameras this weekend and addressed the topic of the Miami Heat Big 3.

Bryant took it in stride, offering he is happy for all three players and hoped all along that they would make the best decision for themselves and their families.

The world will attempt to read into the fact that he expressed joy for Wade and Bosh sans Lebron… then did so when asked about James specifically.

Before we get all carried away with what Bryant said and how he said it, let’s acknowledge the fact that we don’t know the line of questioning. It’s very possible that some reporter asked Kobe about Wade and Bosh specifically, and another brought up Lebron.

Kobe Signs Three Year Extension With Lakers

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Apr.02, 2010, under GAME, KS NEWS

040715_kobePressconf_2.h2Kobe Bryant signed a three year extension today that will carry him through the 2013-2014 season with the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers.

Bryant has been with the Lakers since 1996 when he entered the league after being drafted 13th straight from high school. The subject of trade rumors in 2003 and the summer of 2004 when the Lakeshow was dismantled, he returned and led a new crop of players to the Finals two years in a row.

As the summer of 2010 approaches and big names like Lebron James and Dwyane Wade contemplate moves elsewhere, Lakers’ fans can rest assured their marquee player will stay put in the Golden State.

Stephen Jackson Suggests He’s Kobe =

by KS STAFF on Oct.16, 2009, under GAME, VID E OZE

jacksonkobeIn case you hadn’t heard, Stephen Jackson got like five fouls in the first ten minutes of a game against the Lakers and it turns out it was a direct result of his matchup with Kobe Bryant.

Jackson found himself emotionally charged over the battle with the superstar shooting guard and apparently reacted violently because he felt like he was on an island against Bryant.

“Nobody reacted but me, so the team didn’t have a reaction,” Jackson said after practice Wednesday. “It was only me standing up for myself. I don’t think anybody else stood up for me.

Apparently, Jackson wanted or needed some help given the physical nature of play that ensued between he and Bryant. in that short time span. The former Pacer and Spur continue his rant, arguing that he too should be consider the best player in the league.

“I’m not a fan of Kobe. I’m not somebody who looks up to him,” Jackson said. “I’m a grown man, so when I go out there and play the game, I play the game. I feel like I’m just as good as him. I might not get the publicity or the notoriety he gets, but I feel like I can play with anybody in the NBA.”

Well, he may be as good as Kobe in his own mind, but stats don’t prove it and neither does the following clip.

Kid Challenges Kobe To Game O One On One

by KS STAFF on Jul.13, 2009, under GAME, KS EXCLUSIVE, KS NEWS, KSMN, VID E OZE, WCW

Kobe Bryant took part in a little extra curricular activity during his basketball camp when he played a 14 year old in a game of 1 on 1. Unsurprisingly, he took the kid 5-0 and after the game there was a little banter.

The kid appears to offer that had Bryant played him at Lebron’s camp there would have  been a different outcome and Bryant responds by saying: “I’ll tell you one thing. You ain’t dunkin’ on me at my camp!”

His comment stems from a story last week that has already become somewhat of a legend. Lebron James was playing pickup at his own camp when a sophomore from Xavier dunked on him.

Players and coaches were quoted as saying it was “bad,” among other things, but no one will ever know how bad, as Lebron had camp officials confiscate the tape.

Enjoy!
