New SLAP | Ya Boy | “We Ready” (Video)
by KS STAFF on May.04, 2010, under SLAP, VID E OZE
Fresh off a rollercoaster ride with the Black Wallstreet and into a new deal with Akon’s Konvict Music, San Francisco mainstay Ya Boy is more than ready.
For purposes of this post, however, that’s the name of his new joint. It features glimpses of the More Than A Game documentary starring the NBAs most recent back to back Most Valuable Player Lebron James.
A little outside the norm for your normal Yay Area artist, but that’s probably why in the hell he made it all the way to Atlanta and cinched the deal in the first place.
If anything, it shows Ya Boy’s dexterity as an artist. He’s undoubtedly one of the Bay’s most overlooked and slept on artists. 2010 looks like it might be shaping out as his well deserved breakout year.

Akon Pleads Guilty | Fined For Throwing Fan
by KS STAFF on Dec.17, 2008, under KS NEWS

Akon is pleading guilty to harassment after he tossed a fan off stage at a concert last summer.
He will serve no jail time as long he performs 65 hours of community service and pays a $250 fine.
Akon declined comment as he left court.
The Senegalese-American singer, born Aliaune Thiam, was accused of picking up a teenage boy and throwing him off the stage during a June 2007 concert at a minor league baseball stadium near Poughkeepsie. Another concertgoer said she suffered a concussion when the teen landed on her.
Akon released his third album, Freedom, earlier this month.
