by KS STAFF on Apr.20, 2010, under VID E OZE

He acknowledges it’s one of those things that pretty much happened organically, but could have possibly initiated the distinction between the Old and New West emcee.
And so the story goes… Crook made a track called the “New West Anthem” that was supposed to feature a bevy of up and comers. It never came out. However, in passing the track from crew to crew and emcee to emcee, the name sort of grew on them and there you have it… The New West was born.

New Slap | Jay Rock X Glasses Malone | “Dollars Make Sense”
by KS STAFF on Aug.24, 2009, under SLAP, VID E OZE

Like it or not, the New West movement is moving fast and furious. Two of its most prominent artists hooked up to deliver an eerie portrayal that speaks on the obvious. At the end of the day, it’s all about gettin’ money and if they maintain this pace once their respective albums drop, both Jay Rock and Glasses Malone stand to make a lot of it. Watts stand up!
Guess red and blue do make green… Enjoy!!
