New SLAP | Nipsey Hussle ft. Southside Po | “Been Around”
by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Feb.11, 2010, under VID E OZE
Hands down, the Nipsey Hussle campaign has to be one of the smartest and active over the past decade.
If he was from Canada, he’d be the next best thing.
Seeing he’s from the heart of South Central, it’s a wonder the hating hasn’t taken its toll. But you can’t fight good product. It claims you wherever you’re standing and consumes your time like a first grader.
As usual, Neighborhood Nip shines on this dark track, effectively leaving little daylight for his counterpart, Southside Po.
It is what it is.
Nipsey Hussle Dips Thru South Central
by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Jan.05, 2010, under VID E OZE
Like any youngsta raised in the streets of South Central, Nipsey Hussle found himself prone to the illigitamate ways of the streets. He shined shoes. He ran the streets and replenished them for a buck.
He did however, overcome that beast and is poised to become the next best thing on the west coast.
In this clip, Neighborhood Nip recalls how he earned that moniker and discusses what it’s going to take for him to generate interest in himself and the West as a whole.
Nipsey Hussle Talks How Red & Blue Make Green
by KS STAFF on Nov.23, 2009, under VID E OZE
Nipsey Hussle has to have one of the hardest West Coast accents ever! He also bears the mentality and qualities that produce five star albums.
Ready and willing to get it in whenever, whereever and with whomever, Neighborhood Nip discusses how his rap career materialized because he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Equally important, he talks how red and blue make green on this clip he provided The Raw Report.
“We men first,” he says, referring to his decision to work with Blood affiliates Jay Rock and Game. “It’s politickin’ in LA behind that, but at the same time, we gettin’ money. Like I say, we men first.
“I knew Jay Rock and Jay Rock knew me, just like I knew Game. It was just mutual respect. We get it in and do our thang.”
Nipsey is currently promoting the third installment of his street classic, Bullets Ain’t Got No Names.
Neighborhood Nip Hustlin’ In New York
by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Sep.02, 2009, under VID E OZE, WCW
As usual, Neighborhood Nip is not at home. This time he’s in the studio with French Montana, Lazy K and Green Lantern, talking about the importance of the grind. When asked by native New Yorkers, who they should be on the lookout for, he shouts out the Slauson Boys, Jay Rock and Young Brody, among others.
“You have to have your own movement,” he says, emphasizing his will to find success on his own. “It’s not relevant until they see it.”
Frenchie makes reference to “the wave” and offers that he’s okay with other coasts/rappers adopting the term, but did offer that The GAME should have shouted out Max when he dissed Jay Z (”I’m So Wavy”).
Other than that it’s a nice peak into a session between some reputable folks… “All money in, no money out!”
New Slap | Drake X Nipsey Hussle | “Killer”
by KS STAFF on Aug.20, 2009, under SLAP

Drake and Nipsey Hussle on the same track? Please believe it! When he visited the studio with the LA Leakers, Neighborhood Nip was asked who he was feelin’ at the time and Drake was about the first name out his mouth. Either this was already in the works or the Canadian born rapper took note and worked to make it happen. Either way, they kinda need each other and it’s great to see the type of collaboration where opposites balance each other out.
Conceptually, they’re both in a position to ‘kill’ the game, proving their worth on this deliberate ditty… over rich organ strings and a simple drum that allows either emcee flex his lyrical might, Drake and Hussle embody focus and determination. Say it ain’t so!
Enjoy!
