Doin’ Work: Young, Fly & Flashy @ The New Parrish (Oakland, CA)
by KS STAFF on Jul.29, 2010, under WORK
Believe it or not, we put together about three or four different looks for this party. Based on the initial dialogue we had with our client, Tene thought to place a young, fly chick on a white background with palm trees (it’s in Cali), bright sky, etc.
She had some jewels on, so that took care of the “flashy” part we thought… And boy did we think wrong.
Turns out our client wanted a party scene with “flashing lights” and perhaps a “couple” or just a fly chick looking fly… and young… and flashy.
We eventually removed a portion of her top (well, covered it up), turned the daylight into darkness and threw a gang of lights up to brighten it back up.

Young Jeezy Up To His Usual Tricks In The Yay
by KS STAFF on Aug.18, 2009, under VID E OZE
Young Jeezy is known for bringing people out on stage to either create a bigger effect for himself or to show love to some city and/or crowd. For instance, this year, after he’d wrecked the Birthday Bash set in ATL, he brought out Lil Wayne to a stunned crowd that would have gone through the roof had their been one. From what we know of Jeezy, he always gives it up and this example, which occurred Saturday night in the Bay Area, was no different, as he brought out the Ambassador of the Yay, E, muthafuckin’ 40 while passing through on the AMW tour.
If there’s any reason to criticize Jeezy, it would rest in the idea that he announced 40 as the “King of Oakland” and anyone who’s traveled across the bridge more than five times, knows Earl is from Vallejo. The other would be the notion that he seemed to think he was in Oakland opposed to Concord… other than that, it was cavvy.
