Whitney Houston talks to Oprah Winfrey about the roller coaster ride of a marriage she endured with Bobby Brown. She admits to doing drugs with him, including powdered cocaine, marijuana and base rocks, AKA crack cocaine. Houston does clarify that she did not free base through a pipe, but did lace the weed with rocks.

Oprah makes a point to emphasize how Houston was essentially at the height of her career when she met Brown at or around the point where she was indulged by Bodyguard fame. The television giant then examines how he destroyed her life… Oh, and he spit on her.

It really amazes me sometimes to own the idea of being a member of the working media… that I’m bunched into this really classless group of “professionals” that makes a habit of serving up pretentious headlines for a buck… or… a click?

I’ve been trying to avoid commenting on the Chris Brown/ Oprah Winfrey melodrama, ignored it as long as it’s been an issue, but after reading the latest installment, I felt the need to weigh in. I went to this site that I frequent and the title of the highest prioritized story read, “Shots Fired!! Oprah Gets Back At Breezy!!” or some stupid shit like that. Like… for real?

Am I supposed to believe a media giant like Oprah Winfrey is honestly quarreling with Chris Brown? I mean, I don’t give a damn what he said or did, she has better things to do than play ping pong with him.

So the truth of the matter is, she was interviewed by Access Hollywood and they asked her about his reaction to the show she did in the aftermath of his and Rihanna’s heavily publicized feud. Seems he was a little peeved that she didn’t side with him after he flew to Africa to perform for her school girls.

Seven girls were disciplined for conduct detrimental to the student population at Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls outside Johannesburg opened by the talk show queen in 2007. While the details are sketchy and haven’t been completely disclosed, South African media reported that the seven girls were punished because they either forced students into relationships or demanded others to engage in sexual acts.

Four of the girls were expelled and three others were suspended.

A spokeswoman for the acadeamy’s foundation would not comment on the matters, offering it was a improper to discuss or “confirm any personal information or disclose any details related to these expulsions.”

“I’m disappointed that several of our students chose to disregard the school’s rules,” Winfrey said in a statement issued by her production company HARPO. “It’s disheartening when any student has to be suspended or expelled and it’s a process that involves serious review and consideration. We will not tolerate a violation of school policy and dishonesty.”

This marks the second time the Academy has endured an account of abuse and/or sexual assault. The other occured when a woman who was overseeing a dormitory was accused of similar charges. A decision in her trial has yet to be rendered.
