Chicago Rapper Bump J Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison
by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Sep.30, 2009, under KS NEWS
For his role in a bank robbery that occurred in January of 2007, Chicago rapper Bump J, whose government name is Terrence Boykin, is set to serve ten years in a federal prison.
The Eastside native was on the run for the better period of a year when an officer pulled him over on a routine traffic stop in Carbondale, Illinois in November of 2008.
Bump had initially admitted guilt to the robbery in question, where he brandished a gun in the presence of employees and Chase customers. However, after doing so, he fled Chicago, effectively avoiding his jail sentence.
Now, he will serve two terms that will run concurrently, one for the gun charges (7 years) and another for the robbery (37 months) itself.
Boykin is best known for his affiliation with Chicago’s Goon Squad and the hit “Move Around.”
