Game Don’t Wanna Be A Gangsta No Mo’

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Mar.16, 2010, under KS NEWS

game-invis-gunsCompton bred rapper Game is currently fighting a lawsuit stemming from a 2007 incident that might work to re-define him as an artist.

Various sources are reporting Game has asked the judge and prosecution team to not refer to him as a “gangster rapper” and would prefer his lyrics not be introduced as evidence against him.

Game fears if the jury hears pointed lyrics glorifying the life and culture of the gang(s) he’s gone on record to represent, it might taint their decision for or against him.

Game already served eight days in jail for the incident, an alleged brawl where he supposedly hit another man during a pick up basketball game, then later pulled a gun on him.

What Part Of The GAME Is This?

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Oct.26, 2009, under KS NEWS

gamehomeSkeptics may not be convinced by Sean “Diddy” Combs move to Interscope Records yet, but his influence has already begun to take effect on at least one of the label’s premier artists’.

Sources from Dubb CNN report that Jayceon Taylor, AKA The GAME, who is currently putting the finishing touches on his fourth solo release, R.E.D. AKA The RED Album, recently decided to drop the first half of his rap handle. In effect, he now wants to be referred to simply as “Game.”

An acronym that once stood for “The Gangsta All Muthafuckas Envy” and/or “The General Amount of Money Earned,” The GAME, is apparently no more. The move to simplify the name would seem to have come from an attempt to do just that, as most neglected to pronounce Taylor’s former pseudonym anyway.

In other Game news, the Compton rapper is expected to drop The RED album a week after the anticipated release date of December 1.

The first single, entitled “Crazy,” features Gucci Mane with production credits that belong to Timbaland. Other guests include Chris Brown (”LA Girl”), Akon, Diddy, Rick Ross and Beanie Sigel.

The production credits, as usual, include a bevy of all-star beat makers (Pharrell, Akon, Cool & Dre, Polow Da Don, etc.), but no word as to whether Dr. Dre will be among them.

The GAME Reveals R.E.D. Details Via Twitter

by PAPERBOI PIMPEN on Oct.14, 2009, under KS NEWS, WCW

2a0kyso.jpgWhile his former label mate and adversary 50 Cent can’t seem to make his mind up as to when he’s going to drop his fourth opus, The GAME appears confident and ready about his latest release – The R.E.D. Album.

Also his fourth solo release since signing a major label deal with Interscope five years ago, The GAME let his adoring fans know his new masterpiece will be ready for listening consumption on December 1st.

As has become the custom with these big announcements, the Compton bred emcee took to Twitter to deliver the news.

R.E.D. album soon, wrappin this mothaf#$%@ up in 30 days ! Jimmy Iovine told me to tell ya when this sh!t drop, Merry X-Mas ! BWS/Aftermath,” he tweeted on Monday.

He also added that former Atlantic artist Diddy, who recently joined the Interscope family, may make a guest appearance.

No matter how much help he has, it will be difficult for Chuck Taylor to win the sales battle that day, as Alicia Keys’ Element of Freedom and R. Kelly’s Untitled, are both set to drop concurrently with R.E.D.

The GAME Dedicated To Making Great Music

by KS STAFF on Jul.29, 2009, under KS NEWS, WCW

More footage from the MTV interview where The GAME initially denounced his role in the G-Unit/Interscope beef, has surfaced finding the Compton rapper attempting to make sense of his forthcoming album.

He struggles a bit to explain the parameters in which the R.E.D. album belongs beside the rest of his catalog, but manages to share, it has absolutely nothing to do with his infamous Blood gang ties.

Much the contrary, the R.E.D. album has everything to do with how The GAME has retooled and rededicated (he says this word a lot) himself for a brighter, more productive future.

No word on whether the title has anything to do with Jay Z’s BLACK album, but we’ll keep you informed if any such material surfaces.
