Atlanta rapper T.I. is scheduled to report to an Arkansas prison Tuesday May 26th, but recently requested to remain free while he seeks a minimum security prison closer to his Atlanta home.

So let us get this straight. You got a SWEET deal that all but exempted you from the prison sentence you should have received. You got a television show that allowed you to help kids who followed the same course as yours and simultaneously gave you the opportunity to express remorse for your actions… and you have the gall to be choosy about where you lay your head? Mind you, this is the same place you said you weren’t going to allow your family to see you in anyway, so what the fuck difference does it make where you are?

According to the Fort Mill Times, Tip, whose real name is Clifford Harris, yearns to be free while he scouts potential locations to serve his term.

A variety of sources reported that Tip’s deal would only have to serve two months in jail, given he had already done ten months in his Atlanta home. According to AP, he will in fact have to serve his entire one year and one day sentence because the terms of home confinement and his pending jail sentence were/are separate.

T.I. called in to Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 last night to deliver some news many in the hip-hop community felt would come sooner or later. Stunning nonetheless, Tip announced his displeasure with the recent allegations regarding Cedric “Alfamega” Zellars’ informant past.

Apparently on a cell phone when he rang the station to share his thoughts and ultimately can the rapper, T.I. seems to read a prepared statement that leaves no doubt about his position on the matter.

“I am stunned and totally surprised by the news about Alpha Ced Zellars,” the Grand Hustle impresario uttered in disbelief. “Even though all our employees are asked to be honest and open about their past history, at no time did Alpha disclose to me or Grand Hustle what is now appearing in the media.

“He essentially deceived us by failing to fully disclose the truth about his past and there is no place in our organization for dishonest and misleading behavior. As I’ve always said, you must take responsibilty for your own actions. We at Grand Hustle do not support or condone blaming others for our own mistakes.

“I hope and pray that God blesses Ced in his plans, but I don’t foresee me or my company playing a role in his personal or professional business. End.”

In related news, rumor has it that Alphamega is in the hospital after an altercation with police officers that left him with two broken legs.

As he anticipates sentencing for his part in a weapons charge case that occured in 2007, Clifford Harris AKA T.I., sits down with CNNs T.J. Holmes to discuss matters germane to the rapper’s current circumstances. The video is interrupted at one point as he is reminded to change the battery on his ankle monitor.

Lawyers representing the mother of Atlanta rapper T.I.’s two sons, claim he owes them $8,000 in legal fees that stem from a child support case over a year ago. In the previous case, Lashon Dixon sued the rapper, claiming that the $2000 he was paying her monthly, was not enough to support the three of them.

The Grand Hustle impresario was ordered in court to up the payment to more than $3,000 and cover added expenses as well.

The Associated Press claims T.I. was also ordered to pay the lawyer fees by November 19, 2008, but failed to and is expected to appear in court tomorrow, January 6, 2008, to address both the legal allegations and custody matters with Dixon and her lawyer.
