Fresh for West Coast Wednesdays!
This video comes courtesy of the new Death Row 3CD/DVD box set WideAwake Entertainment has been promoting for the past few months. Good to see this footage, but it would be better to know the most powerful West Coast label ever, was still intact.
In any scenario, it’s refreshing to know something like this is possible. The Lady of Rage sets it off. Daz takes the baton and Kurupt absolutely MURDERS it!

Tray Deee & Snoop Dogg Tackle Beef… For Now
by KS STAFF on Jul.29, 2009, under KS NEWS, WCW
Once a devout soldier and big brother to Long Beach native Snoop Dogg, Tray Deee became the irresistable force of a three man wrecking crew called the Eastsidaz. Prior to realizing their full potential as a group and his as a solo artist, Deee was convicted for his part in a 2003 shooting and is currently serving a 12 year sentence at the California State Men’s Colony State Prison and hadn’t spoken to Snoop in five years – until recently.
“I finally enjoyed a warm conversation with Snoop Dogg after over five years of no communication whatsoever,” Tray Deee said, disclosing the two agreed to leave the past behind… well most of it. “We agreed to let the past go like water under the proverbial bridge and we even shared a few genuine laughs.”
While he and Snoop have once again opened the lines of communication, he does allow the contractual dispute that put them on non-talking terms in the first place, is something that still needs to be addressed in the near future.
“We still have some existing financial discrepancies left to resolve and from our roughly 10 minute conversation, I could not gauge whether or not he is yet prepared to face that reality,” Tray Deee shared further. “Honestly, I once cared for the dude like the little brother that I never had. So, while I detest the circumstances which led to our dissolution and resulting enmity, I can’t proclaim any lingering hatred for Snoop because my love for him was authentic. Insha-Allah which means ‘God-willing,’ everything will work out for the best in due time.”
As for Goldie Loc? Ain’t nutihn’ doin’. Tray Deee feels betrayed by his former road dog and wouldn’t even consider the idea of reuniting with him, let alone an Eastsidaz reunion.
“Now Goldie Loc, he has never exhibited any degree of loyalty toward me,” explained Tray Deee. “When our contractual abuse was uncovered by our then manager, I instructed Goldie that the only chance we had at rectifying the situation is if we stood unified, but he continued to run behind Snoop, which caused me to appear as the trouble-maker/bad guy.
“The few times I’ve managed to speak with him since my incarceration, he’s been evasive or outright lied to me. I have no interest of f***in’ with Goldie Loc ever again — except to be compensated by him for prominently featured on his CD.”
WCW | Pac Div | “Mayor” (Video)
by KS STAFF on Jun.24, 2009, under VID E OZE, WCW
Anyone familiar with Pac Div (Pacific Division) knows this trio is all about fun, fashion and respect. Emphasizing the latter, their new video/track, “Mayor,” is an NWA/Eazy E throwback that begs the head to bob. And don’t be fooled by their penchant to keep it PC, they got ‘killers on the side in case u suckas wanna try em.’
Really tho, this shit bangs! Enjoy!!
WIDEawake To Release 2Pac Album In 2010
by KS STAFF on Jun.24, 2009, under KS NEWS, WCW
Since purchasing the Death Row catalog this past January, WIDEawake Entertainment has been relatively quiet and that’s about to change with the quickness. A week after what would have been his 38th birthday, the company told Billboard they plan on releasing exclusive 2pac materials that have been preserved and relegated to the Shakur Estate and Death Row Records to the date.
The album, untitled as yet, is subject to be released sometime in June of 2010.
In conjunction with EverGreen, who will design the compositions and masters of such releases, WIDEawake also plans on releasing The Chronic: Re-lit. Complete with four new tracks and a DVD of Dre and other artists, it promises to evoke memories of a golden era when the West Coast could do no wrong. The Chronic: Re-Lit will be released this September.
“WIDEawake [was] looking for a partner to help monetize their rights,” David Schulhof, co-CEO of EverGreen explained to Billboard. “We already had a relationship through the estate of Tupac Shakur; WIDEawake was looking for an exclusive boutique company to help focus on licensing in the film, television, video game and ad world.
“Because we own the catalogs of Tupac and 2 Live Crew and Teddy Riley and others, they knew we already had experience in the genre. So, it just felt like the obvious choice for them to partner up with us for Death Row.”
